About Kata
Kata grew up playing competitive tennis in Hungary before moving to the United States, where she became a two-time All-American at the University of Tennessee. After graduating, she began her coaching career at DePaul University as a graduate assistant and has spent over a decade at the Knoxville Racquet Club, helping players of all levels grow on and off the court.
Her journey began with performance and competition, but over time it evolved into something deeper. Before meeting Dave, mindfulness and meditation were unfamiliar to her. Through books, conversations, and retreats, she discovered a new way of living—one rooted in awareness, balance, and calm.
Today, Kata lives with a grounded sense of clarity. She understands what creates stress and how to move through it with ease. Her approach blends physical vitality with mindful awareness—because a healthy body and a peaceful mind are the foundation of a fulfilling life.
On and off the court, Kata brings laughter, presence, and genuine connection to her coaching. Her goal is simple: to help others grow, feel good, and enjoy the moment they’re in.
About David
For much of my twenties, life felt like an endless cycle of worry and tension.
I carried anxiety into everything — my work, my relationships, even my health. To cope, I threw myself into coaching and constant activity. The busier I stayed, the quieter my mind seemed… until I stopped. When I slowed down, the anxiety came rushing back. That became the turning point that sent me searching for something deeper.
Over the next twelve years, I devoted myself to the study of Buddhism through the Asian Classics Institute, founded by Geshe Michael Roach. I was initiated into the Vajrayogini lineage of Buddhist Tantra, and in that journey discovered something that changed my life: peace doesn’t come from fixing the outside world — it comes from understanding the mind. I realized that life isn’t happening to us — it’s arising from us.
During those years in Nashville, I taught yoga and meditation, guided student-athletes at Vanderbilt University, and led sessions at Buddhist silent retreats. At the same time, my work on the tennis court continued — a career now spanning more than 30 years at Middle Tennessee State University, Vanderbilt University, Richland Country Club, and Knoxville Racquet Club. Teaching tennis became a living classroom for awareness: how we move, focus, and respond mirrors how we live.
Today, my practice is simple yet continually evolving. It includes daily stron meditation and Kriya Yoga. I continue to attend workshops and advanced courses to expand my understanding and refine my practice. Learning and growth are essential to me — they keep my spirit alive and my perspective fresh. I live a conscious, plant-based lifestyle, and at 54, I still love to move, to dance, and to learn. I’ve discovered that thriving means living from presence, not habit — meeting life with curiosity instead of fear.
My mission is to share the wisdom of Kriya yoga and meditation as tools for real life — helping people move beyond stress and survival into balance, clarity, and freedom. I don’t teach theories. I share what I embody.
Because peace isn’t an idea — it’s a way of living.
What a Week with Dave & Kata Looks Like?
Energy and ease flow side by side when you spend a week with Dave and Kata.
Each day moves with a natural rhythm — learning, laughing, and slowing down just enough to feel fully present.
One moment, you might be breathing under the morning sun; the next, finding effortless focus in movement. Conversations unfold over shared meals, insights land between points on the court, and laughter becomes as grounding as stillness itself.
Together, Dave and Kata create space for you to unwind and wake up at the same time — to feel calm yet alive, clear yet open.
It’s not about doing more. It’s about feeling more — more connected, more aware, more yourself.
